Dubailand is going to include 45 large Dubai property projects and more than 200 tourism, leisure and entertainment projects on a smaller scale. It is one of the biggest tourist destination projects ever to be built. Dubailand is focused on appealing to tourists of all ages, from a variety of different countries and will include activities for everyone.
When the Dubai land themepark is done, it is going to be two times bigger than the Disney World Resort located in Florida. This means it will be the world's biggest amusement park. The first phase of Dubailand is going to be completed from 2007 to 2010, while the last phase will begin in 2015. It is projected to be done by 2018.

This is a family-themed world containing water parks, amusement parks and adventure rides. This Park is going to be on 145 million sq. ft. of land and will cost around AED 6.8 billion. There will be 14 total projects, which include the Giants World, Pharaohs Theme Park, Global Village, Kid World, Space Hotel, Space & Science World, Film World, Tourism Park, Snow World, Desert World, Water Park, Aviation World, The Castles and the Arabian Theme Park.
2. Sports and Outdoor World
This world is based on heroes and champions around the world and is going to include a variety of sports venues that allow people to play rugby, cricket, and many other sports and extreme sports as well. After it is done, the Sports and Outdoor World is going to be a great place for pro sports teams to train in warm weather at Dubai Land.
The Sports and Outdoor World is going to be on 206 million sq. ft. of land and is estimated to become a AED 2.5 billion investment. There will be five main areas: Dubai Sport City, Extreme Sports World, Polo World, Racing World, and Golf World. The Dubai Autodrome and the Business Park Race Trace, which are done already, are part of this world as well.
3. Eco-Tourism World
The Eco-Tourism World is going to bring the beauty of the natural world into Dubai in various nature-based and desert-based attractions in a beautiful natural setting. This luxury world will have experiences and activities that are going to appeal to a wide variety of people. The unique and beautiful sights are going to really bring in a lot of visitors and keep them coming back.
This world is going to take up 806 million sq. ft. of Dubai land and cost nearly AED 4.2 billion. It will have a total of 12 main exhibits: Animal World, Petting Zoo, Light & Sound World, Equestrian Center, Gardens World, Science and History Museum, Dinosaur World, Sand Dune Hotel, Bio World, Camp World, Sandstone Villas, and Desert Safari.
4. Leisure and Vacation World
The Leisure and Vacation World is where you will find spas and other relaxing attractions. There will be many retreats that are very appealing and meet the increasing demand for a luxurious, relaxing and elegant vacation resort, hotel, and wellness retreat. There will be many fitness centers and stress management centers where you can try new activities. It will feel like you have gone on a relaxing trip far away but you don't have to leave Dubai Land.
This world is going to take up about 311 million sq. ft. of land and will cost around AED 3.6 billion. There will be 4 main areas: Andalusian Resort & Spa, Women's World, Holiday World, and Wonders World.
5. Retail and Entertainment World
Because shopping is among the most popular activity for people on vacation, the Retail and Entertainment World is going to be a center full of retail facilities that offer a variety of projects from all around the world, each merchant showing his wares for buy and sell in this one gigantic retail location. There will be many entertainment and dining options as well among the retail stores so people are going to want to stay and shop, eat, and spend their money. This is sure to be a popular attraction.
This world is going to take up 46 million sq. ft. and cost AED 2.4 billion. It will consist of 5 main areas: Mall of Arabia, Auction World, Factory Outlets, Flea Market, and World Trade Park.
6. Downtown
Downtown Dubai Land will offer a variety of options including restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as shopping and leisure activities. There will be activities for families and singles alike and people of all ages including movie theaters, bowling alleys, street entertainers, gaming centers, nightclubs, and themed restaurants. There will be activities day and night to keep people there and encourage them to spend the night in Dubailand with their families.
Downtown will take up about 6 million sq. ft. and cost around AED 2.4 billion. The 4 main areas of Downtown will be Dubai Walk, The Towers, Teen World, and Virtual Games World.
The different sections of Dubailand will be based on many different themes and these themes are all going to be in groups called regions. The regions include Falcon City of Wonder, Dubai Sports City, City of Arabia, Dubai Sunny Mountain Ski Resort and Dome, Dubai Heritage Vision, Arabian Legends, Aqua World, Plantation Equestrian and Polo Club, and Al Emarat Sports World.
Dubai land is going to be conveniently located on the Emirates Ring road where you can easily access it from Abu Dhabi in just an hour. It is going to be just 10 minutes away from the Dubai airport and only 20 minutes away from Sharjah.
